Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre

Western Sydney’s cultural hub, Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre presents a dynamic live program of music, theatre, comedy and dance.

The Joan, as it’s affectionately known, opened its doors to the public in 1990. As well as offering a diverse entertainment program, from international acts to community events, it is also available to hire, with multiple versatile spaces.

Named after Australia’s most famous opera singer, Dame Joan Sutherland, the venue contains a 538-seat concert hall, 377-seat drama theatre, 78-seat multi-purpose studio, an intimate and inviting lounge and bar space, and more than 25 purpose-built music and rehearsal rooms.

The Joan is a five-minute walk from Penrith train station, and a 20-minute drive from Western Sydney International Airport.
