Awards

Every year, the Sydney Comedy Festival awards the funniest shows, recognising their unique and fresh artistry. These are split between three main categories:

Best Of The Fest is the years cream of the crop. Awarded to the show that brought the house down and had friends talking about it for days after!

The nod for Best Newcomer is given to those taking the punt for the first time and delivering laugh after laugh after laugh. Watches these faces, they are going places!

NEW IN 2027! The presentation of an all new award for the Sydney Comedy Festival will see it hand out the Best Indie. Awarded to the show that was talk of the town, brought to you and presented by none other than the artist themself.

Finally, the big banana of the festival, our Festival Director and team, hand out their personal favourite, the prestigious Director’s Choice.

Each award comes with a cash prize, supporting the artists and their future endeavours and taking their show even further. Additionally, it coms with a beautiful glass trophy, to be utilised for bragging rights, or alternatively as a paper weight.
