Floyd Alexander-Hunt is a kiwi comedian based in Sydney. She was selected to be part of the 2020 Comedy Zone at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, a showcase of Australia's best up-and-coming comics. Her awkward yet endearing persona has seen her rise quickly through the ranks of Sydney’s comedy scene after making it to the NSW state finals of Raw Comedy in 2019. She is regularly booked to perform at popular rooms such as the Enmore Theatre, the Sydney Comedy Store, Power Bomb and has headlined at the Sydney Comedy Lounge. In 2019, she was selected for the prestigious SCF ‘Break Out’ showcase and the SCF Roadshow in various locations around NSW.
Her stand-up style incorporates both her musical and improv experience, particularly in her use of the violin and crowd work. Floyd has trained and performed with The Second City and Improv Olympic in Chicago. She has performed in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival with ‘Impromptunes’ and 'The Improv Conspiracy.’ She has also studied with Philippe Gaulier at his school in Paris in both clown and character. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (Music Composition) at the University of Sydney and is currently finishing off her Law Degree while pursuing comedy. She won the NSW Golden Gavel Competition and was a finalist in UK’s Funniest Women.
"Though considered a fresh face on the Sydney comedy scene, Floyd gave a performance of a seasoned comic, with the audience literally erupting with laughter at every word, facial gesture and musical note she gave us." - Pulp
"From her anxious demeanour, her comic-take on family drama, and hilarious fixation on her exes, Floyd is definitely a face to watch out for in the Sydney comedy scene." - Pulp
"Alexander-Hunt is overwhelmingly likeable, a skilled storyteller; and provides a promising glimpse at the future of Sydney’s fringe comedy." - Honi Soit
"USyd student Alexander-Hunt quickly won the crowd with her cringe-style self-parodying." - Honi Soit
