The Post Haste Players, creators of the festival hits Bard To The Bone & Romeo and Juliet Improvised bring you ROME SWEET ROME.
For one night only, based off your suggestions our cast will improvise a play in the style of Shakespeare featuring all the tropes of his Roman epics: Dictators, Gladiators, Political conspiracy, names like “Calculus” and “Periodontitis” ...also lots and lots of murder. The gods will be consulted, loyalties will be tested, and all of this while wearing worse togas than in Animal House. There’s no script, there’s barely any costuming, but we do guarantee historical inaccuracy.
Featuring Michael Gregory, Ewan Campbell, Oliver Burton, Marko Mustac, Linette Voller and the improvised music of Bryce Halliday.
"This is improv theatre at it’s very best, pushing the boundaries of traditional Theatresports." - AU Review
"We could have done with another hour!...one of the highlights of the Festival." - Sydney Arts Guide
"Even though it is all made up in front of our very eyes, and often with our collusion, there’s a kind of long-lasting magic at play here which gives us food for thought for the journey home, and an undeniably enjoyable evening revelling in the Bardly brilliance of the Good Lord Shakespeare." - Arts Hub
