Jen Mackie and Maddie Parker are back with their delightful, charming and heart-warmingly hilarious show about female friendship. It's a part improvised, part scripted character based show that puts two empty nester mums - Jan and Marie in the spotlight. These two women have finally got the kids out of the house and they feel a little at a loss about how to stay relevant. They want to give you advice about how to live their lives - you don't need to make the same mistakes they did! Come armed with your best questions about love, life, sex, careers and relationships. They've got a lot of opinions, and they're not afraid to use them.

A great show for any one who has a mum, is a mum, knows a mum, wants to be a mum or absolutely under no circumstances wants to turn into their own mum.

“sore from laughter” results...Clever, funny, slightly (beautiful) mad and very inventive from before the onstage start to the final post show bows" - Chuck Moore Reviews

Marie and Jan (Jen Mackie, Confetti Gun's Maddie Parker) provide very, very funny wisdom for – and of – the ages, playing two empty nesters filling in their children left home semi-retirement by taking to the stage. And showing what comic chaos happens when “inspirational” life story lessons escape from the sealed off, controlled pages of a book/movie, and roam into the real world… especially when it’s told with the calm, over detailed politeness of two well lived women with a lot of things to share. You’ll never be able to take a certain similarly named book and film by a younger upstart (or the inevitable next one) seriously again. Nailing the audience funny bones before they even get onto the stage, Mackie and Parker stay resolutely in well developed comic character of two long time friends – one a successful fluke investor, one fluttering between jobs and unexpected opportunities she gets bored with once the chase is over - with “sore from laughter” results. Mixing up the prepared (life stories, wine tasting, holiday whoops moments, missing/ disappointed by their kids even though they deny it, just right memory triggers from the 1980s. Etc). And the one-off improv. (aka on the spot making up an entire story) with “let’s act out the scene” thanks to audience suggestions (shame on your wind-up ups, many numbered crowd – we love you for it). So only tonight’s big crowd will get to see such events as: Pilates mishaps. Surviving Susan (“give us some context…”). Spark regeneration with your partner…. Etc again. Clever, funny, slightly (beautiful) mad and very inventive from before the onstage start to the final post show bows, while having fun with Marie’n’Jen instead of being nasty with them, Parker and Mackie’s real mothers were proudly present on the opening night. Their fellow attendees in the big crowd fell in comedy love with Marie and Jan almost as much, on the first show of a mini #confettiGun (performers) Fringe festival that, well, lives up to every word of the show title. #JenMackie #MaddieParker #LiveLaughLove #JanandMarie
